I’ve discovered over the last year how much fun blogging can be. While I’ve covered lots of topics from vacation planning to the death penalty, most of them reflect what I call, “Life on Dog Hill.” It’s my life in honest and open fragments of reality.
As the year comes to an end, I leveraged Google analytics to see which of my postings were most popular. Knowing what readers like most will help me plan for 2012. After all, why write unless I have readers?
Viewing the analytics is fun too. Seeing how people navigate the site, what pages interest them and which don’t. Learning which of my blog postings was most popular (by a long shot, I might add) is amusing to me, to say the least. It’s one of those stories that I hesitated on publishing. It was off the wall. Possible offensive to many. Social Services might investigate. However, after writing it and sitting on it a few days, I decided, “What the hay!” This is Life on Dog Hill!
And, the winner for top blog posting for 2011 is… drum roll, pleeze…
Mom’s Pee (June 27, 2011)
Okay, the title was completely lacking in creativity and it’s quite possible that the top rating came from a bunch of, well, perverts! Still, it reigns number one and lots of people have told me that they laughed until they cried. So, if you haven’t read it and can appreciate strange humor, I hope you’ll have a read. And, if you read it once and enjoyed it, read it again and pass it on! So far the authorities have not visited me.
Runners up:
Why hire a plumber when you have Handy Woman (Nov. 28, 2011)
ABC’s challenge to buy American opened my eyes (Dec. 22, 2011)
I also blog as a success coach on MagnetizeSuccess.com. The top three postings from that site are:
Setting achievable 2012 resolutions (Dec. 11, 2011)
If I can write a book, you can too! (Dec. 22, 2011)
Three steps to deepen the mind/body/spirit connection (Aug. 29 2011)
Happy reading!
